Sakai Kanechika GIN3 Hontanren
This series is produced in Sakai city, Osaka. The core steel is made of GIN3 stainless steel. The feature of the series is that it is made by a traditional forging method called “Hontanren”, which takes a lot of time and effort and requires the skill of craftsmen to create the shape of a kitchen knife by starting it from a small steel material. Once the blades are forged, they are carefully sharpened one by one by Mr. Keiichi Fujii who is a third-generation kitchen knife craftsman in Sakai city. The shape of the handle is Japanese style and uses natural magnolia wood with water buffalo horn, which is lighter and easier to handle than the Western style handle.
